The Big Interview: Sean O’Neill
Before leaving for England, our new overseas Sean O’Neill
took the time out to speak exclusively to winningtonpark.co.uk. A few words had to be blanked….guess
that is to be expected from an Aussie!
Mr Sean O’Neill…what should we call you? Seanny, Barge (I have a bigg ass), skip... I’d prefer Seanny
or Skip but I’ve pretty much come to the conclusion that Oz will be the
one most will use.
Is this your first time in England? Have you been warned
about the weather? Haha yer it's *******
freezing there at the moment from all reports, and I count 12°C as freezing so
2°C is stupidly cold. First time
out of Oz so we'll see how we go, I like the professional way Winnington have
been going and I am looking forward to getting over there and involved with the
club and winning games.....
What is your cricketing role? Over here its co-coach and 1st team Vice-captain, I run
nets and fielding practice and pick teams for the weekend matches. For
Winnington I shall be the overseas, hopefully improve on the 07 overseas
(although it might be hard as I heard he was a superstar) haha.
Aussie’s are famous for banter. Will we be hearing much from
you on the pitch this year? If so, what are you most likely to say? Haha I usually sledge alot, and I mean alot... we'll have
to see whether I bring it on the plane, but I usually get stuck into them about
their **** technique or general persona/attire.
Do you have a cricketing motto? Play hard and don't be ****
What will you miss most about Australia? Definitely my mates and family, also AFL (Australian winter
sport, google it)
