Winnington Park 3XI failed to build on a winning draw at Tattenhall the previous week, as Neston’s 5th XI brushed them aside with ease at the Recreation Ground.
Batting first, only captain Paul Morris (42) and Joe Paterson (51) managed to reach double figures for the Northwich side in a disappointing performance.
Morris had got the innings off to a flying start by attacking the young opening bowlers, however once he was trapped lbw by the impressive Dom Smith (4-10), the run rate dropped significantly.
Batsmen continued to fall for single figures around number five batsman Paterson, who played freely for his first ever half-century, which included two sixes.
Resilience from Bailey Metzinger (5), James Hanson (3) and Justin Andrews (0*) helped Park reach 122 all out when Paterson was caught and bowled by Elliot Kirkbride-Wright.
Despite positive opening spells with the ball from Metzinger (0-20) and Hanson (1-30), Neston rallied against the off-spin of Tom Woolley, Paterson and Morris to reach their target inside 22 overs.
Capitalising on the short leg-side boundary, Guy Reeve (50*) and Dan Meredith (70*) dispatched several deliveries into the works, much to the dismay of bowler Morris, to secure the victory.
Ashley travel to mid-Cheshire next week, and Winnington will be hoping to get back to winning ways to make their survival in the Cheshire County Cricket League Division 3 absolutely certain.
