After winning the toss, captain Phill Amatiello looked to take the game to 11th-placed Sandbach, and decided to bat first. Amatiello opened the batting with Josh Tench, who fell early on for 7, but the captain solidified the innings with a knock of 29 from 57 balls.
Joe Paterson coming in at three was the mainstay of the Park innings, he stayed at the crease for 89 balls, making 30 before being bowled by Jaffer.
Winnington found runs hard to come by as Sandbach picked
up wickets at regular intervals – including four for the impressive James Ackerman.
Sam Speak (19), Ashley Haughton (14) and Stu Moniz (14) provided some resistance but Park were all out for 137.
Sandbach couldn’t have asked for a worse start to their innings, they were struggling at 3-2 when opening bowlers Stu Moniz and Bailey Metzinger each took an early wicket.
But they were to be the only wickets Sandbach lost as they comfortably reached their target with Phil Watthey and Luke Harding both finishing unbeaten on 47 and 81 respectively.
Sandbach earned 25 points for the win whilst Park took five points back to Northwich. The loss means Winnington slip to 6th in the TACS Partnership Cheshire Cricket League Division C on 111 points.
