Winnington Park will look back on missed opportunities having come away with just 11 points from their visit to bottom of the table Prestbury.
Having lost the toss Park were put under immediate pressure with Livesley (27) chancing his arm to get the home side off to a swift start.
This mentality continued as Prestbury fell from 44-0 to 92-6. An inexperienced top order played with no fear, but little intelligence as Winnington's spin bowlers Michael Dunning (3-66) and Jonathan Wales (4-64) left the home side on 127-8 after just 28 overs. However, the power shifted, as the experienced Kirkland (46 not out) put together an 88 run partnership with Bateman (42 not out) to see the home side to 215-8 at the end of their 45 overs.
Ian Woodcock (73) batted with patience, but was offered little support as the Park fell from 83-1 to 135-7. It was only an aggressive knock from Daniel Ainsworth (44 off 29 balls) that allowed Park to reach maximum batting points, ending their innings on 190-9.
The losing draw leaves Park 25 points adrift of safety going into next weekend's match against third placed Upton.
