Winnington Park 1st XI were unable to build on last weekend's victory having fallen to a six wicket defeat at Oakmere on Saturday.
Choosing to bat first, the visitors could only post 115 all out as Oakmere's ever reliable opening bowler Mike Cushion (6-28) caused the damage. Only Jonathan Wales (38) and Ben Coulbeck (23) looked comfortable with the bat as Park were dismissed in under 40 overs.
Despite a spirited bowling and fielding performance Park were unable to defend the total they set, as Tom Cristofani (38*) and Rick Lyons (43) saw the home side to victory and a crucial 25 points. Thomas Speak (2-20), Jonathan Wales (1-26) and Joe Paterson (1-19) claimed wickets for Park as they slip back into the bottom two.
Winnington captain Mike Johns said; "It was unfortunate that the key decisions didn't go our way today. However, we simply didn't get enough runs on a good pitch. There's plenty more cricket to play this summer, and we've now got to pick ourselves up ahead of another local derby against Northwich next Saturday".
