1st XI
record their second win of the season.
An outstanding bowling and fielding performance restricted to 145
all out. Opening pair Cowell and Pilling
bowled superbly supported by a career best 4-wicket haul from Atherton. In reply the top order failed to deal
with the Marple attack, but at 75-8 Craig Walsh came to score a valuable 24. The last pair knocked the final 10 runs
off, James Cowell scoring consecutive boundaries to win the game. Sean O’Neill batted superbly for an
unbeaten 75.
2nd XI
completed a Saturday double for the club beating Marple by 9 runs. McKeown, Dhopate, Hayes and Johns all
score 30’s as Park reached 168. Connor
and Hayes led the bowling attack yet again with a couple of wickets each,
but the star performer was Keith Jones 13-5-5-15.
3rd XI
restricted New Brighton to just 111 on a damp track at the rec, but a poor
batting performance let them down as they crashed to 98 all out, only Butcher
and Rob Powell staying at the crease for significant periods.

XI rained off against Hale Barns after posting an impressive 211. Sean O’Neill hit a half century and Mike
Caldecott an impressive 35 before he was run out by his partner. Atherton (19*) and Amatiello (12) added vital
qick-fire runs at the end of the
innings. The game was nicely balanced when the rain started with Barns
at 89-2 off 25 and the dangerous Aussie removed for 48.
