INTRODUCING OUR NEW PARKMAN

Our overseas player for the 2018 Season is Tyron Young, a 19 year old opening batsman and off-break spin bowler from the Maroochydore Cricket Club in Queensland, Australia. Ty, as he is known, is really excited about joining the Park and says, "I'm looking forward to contributing with both bat and ball over the coming months. It's going to be a real challenge as I'm used to playing on hard fast tracks whereas the ones over here will be slower, especially early in the season. It was "sweet" to get a couple of wickets in my first game but I learnt that if you drop the bowl short here it just sits up and gets smashed! We have two competitions back in Australia, a two day game comprising of 70 overs each and a one day game of 40 overs each which is similar to the games I'll be playing over here. You have to work really hard to stay in the 1stXI back home as we have four teams and there's always someone trying to take your place"

Ty's best cricket moment in the game has been a haul of 5-29 against Yandina CC which won his club the semi-final of their Cup competition, a competition which they went on to win. As for his cricketing ambitions, he wants to help get the Park promoted and then push himself as far as he can.

Junior Training

Our Junior Training sessions are every Friday evening with under 7/9's between 6pm - 7pm and under 11's 6.30pm till 7.30pm
Everyone welcome to come down players and parents as the bar will be open for refreshments.

The ECB have launched a new initiative aimed at getting more 5-8 year olds into cricket. WPCC have signed up to host this in addition to our own fantastic junior net sessions. For more info and to sign up head to  https://www.ecb.co.uk/play/all-stars
