Park 1XI were put in to bat after losing the toss, away at local rivals Middlewich. In a low scoring game , Park struggled to get going early on until Martin Evans, batting at No.4 came in with the score on 41-3. Martin played a decisive role, scoring 52 before being caught out and taking the score to a more creditable 136-7. This is Martin’s third 50+ score this season and came at an important stage in the game. Phil Amatiello supported Martin at the crease later in the innings, when between them they put on a 57 run partnership before Martin was dismissed. Phil went on to finish on 35no and Park closed their innings on 143-7.
Park bowlers may have been optimistic that they could defend this modest score and perhaps it could be even be a winning score, when Sam Barnes (3-30 off 14) and James Hendry (1-17 off 14) dismissed Middlewich opening batsman and top order , leaving Middlewich reeling at 39-4.
However, Middlewich batsman dug in and slowly moved the score on with Park bowlers struggling to keep the wickets falling with enough frequency to take the win. Jonny Wales manged to add another 2 wickets finishing on 2-26 off 8 overs.
Park take away 11 pts to help them maintain their 5th place in the league after 14 games.

Park 2XI hope to get back to winning ways after last weeks defeat to league leaders North East Cheshire, when the played host to Appleton 4XI down at the Rec. Some late changes to the line up meant a team debut this week to Andrew Barrett. Winning the toss, skipper Darren Falland elected to take the game to Appleton by batting first. Alex Snapes continue to show how he is developing as an all-round player this season by opening the batting for Park and getting the team off to a strong start , eventually being out for 28 , his best score this season. Darren Falland top scored with a handy 53 with out any other Park batsman being able to get going and make a big score. Park were eventually all out for 153.
In reply Appleton kept the scoreboard ticking over but progressively lost wickets. Alex Unwin and Jayant Kumar led the way for Park bowlers with the ball taking 3 wickets each , with support from Taz (2 wkts) and Alex Snapes capping a superb all round performance with 1 wicket taking his tally to 10 for the season. These four bowlers have been the consistent bowling attack for the 2XI this season and between them have now taken 53 wickets between them (Jay-15, Taz-15, Alex U-13 and Alex S-10). Appleton run rate was not enough to close the gap on Park’s score and eventual ran out of overs leaving Park 2XI winners to take a full 25 points.
