'Kendo' had played in the 2nd XI victory over Prestbury on the Saturday and scored a quick-fire 26 that was a useful innings, but he felt he left runs out there and accepted the 3rd XI call when it came, even telling 2nd XI players to come down to The Rec to watch him score a ton the next day - and he duly delivered.
Batting at four, he entered the game in the 14th over with Park 44-2. He batted through and completed his century in just 26 overs on the penultimate ball of the innings, then smashed the final ball for six to finish not out on 107.
That final hit also meant the Park went over the 200 mark as they put on 201-5 in what would turn out to be an 88-run victory as opponents Alvanley were bowled out for 113.
Just for good measure, he also added two wickets to his superb all-round day, taking 2-4 from a couple of late overs to mark a special performance that adds to the already impressive list of contenders for Performance of the Year.
Some very good honourable mentions this week who could have easily won on another occasion too, in the 2nd XI Joe Paterson hit an excellent 69* and James Hanson took 5-70, whilst Alec Butcher made 84 not out in the 1st XI's draw at Barnton.
