At one point it looked like the 1st XI were not going to get a game in on Saturday with the rain, but they got out just in time to allow Tom Speak to shine with the ball and earn the IDE Player of the Week.
Tom opened the bowling after Park won the toss and chose to field, they went on to bowl opponents Ashley out for just 34 as Tom took a superb five-fer with 5-21 from 12 overs.
He bowled with hostility and serious pace as he ripped through the Ashley batting order, proving just too quick for some and showing effectiveness with his slower ball as he showcased a complete bowling performance.
Tom has been restricted in his playing time due to University commitments this season, but when he has played he has remained effective - taking 14 wickets at an average of 13.93 so far this season.
Park won the game by ten wickets to earn a brilliant 20 points, honourable mentions have to go to the other bowlers on the day - Sam Barnes who took 3-6 from seven overs, and James Hanson with 2-6 from 5.4 on his first team debut. Martin Evans again looked good with the bat too during the chase as he finished unbeaten on 25 from 24 balls.
