The outdoor season may have ended, but another indoor season is upon us! What better way to stay in touch than with a fast paced game of indoor cricket. The fixtures for the first half of the Vale Royal Indoor Cricket League have been announced, and our fixtures are as follows;

Thurs 17th Oct - Vs Weaverham - 7:50pm
Weds 23rd Oct -Vs Tattenhall - 8:50pm
Thurs 31st Oct - Vs Oulton Park - 8:50pm
Weds 6th Nov - Vs Kingsley - 7:50pm
Thurs 21st Nov - Vs Christleton - 7:50pm
Thurs 21st Nov - Vs Davenham - 8:50pm
Thurs 5th Dec - Vs Alvanley - 8:50pm

All games take place at St Nicholas Catholic High School in Hartford, and last about one hour.

James Hendry will be in charge of organising this year's team, and he's a great advocate of the indoor game.

He said; "Indoor cricket is becoming increasingly popular as an alternative to the outdoor game. We are lucky to have the opportunity to play both, and although our main focus will be on the summer 2014 season, there is no better way of preparing for that than by playing indoor cricket this winter. It's a great opportunity to work on your game in a competitive environment, and I encourage everyone to make themselves available".

Contact James Hendry if you're interested in playing. Good luck boys!

Cheshire Cricket Board's Advanced Courses

Winnington Park have recommended four junior players for Cheshire Cricket Board's Advanced Courses this winter.

The courses are open to players who have received a nomination from a club coach to the Cheshire Cricket Board.

This year our Director of Youth Cricket James Hendry has nominated Hasan Quareshi, Alex Snapes, Alex Unwin and Sam Barnes. The four will join Dan Barnes (Tazz) who automatically receives a place for being part of a Cheshire District squad.

Sam Barnes has previously represented North Cheshire in the district competition and will be looking to build on a successful season where he made his 1st XI debut for Winnington Park.

Both Alex Snapes and Alex Unwin have been nominated for a second year having been consistent performers at both U11 and U13 level.

Hasan Quareshi receives his first nomination having completed two seasons with Winnington, where he's finished as the top run scorer for the U11's on both occasions.

James Hendry said: "The four players deserve great credit for the hard work and commitment they've put in over the last 12 months. Each of them have had personal successes, and the club will continue to support them in their development. However, there is only so much we can do, and the opportunity to work with Cheshire's Level 3 coaches and showcase their talent is a great one".

He added; "The boys will be in good hands, and I will be in touch with Cheshire's coaches for feedback on their performance this winter".
