WINNINGTON PARK CRICKET CLUB

AIMS

The aim of the club is to promote, provide and develop cricket for all sections of the community, encourage junior participation, provide coaching for all ages and seek opportunities for male, female and disabled participation. Whilst seeking to promote cricket of a high standard, we aim to develop a family ethic. 

CONSTITUTION

  1. The club is named Winnington Park Cricket Club ( W.P.C.C. ). It is a section of Winnington Park Recreation Club and will have its own Management Structure.
  2. The Management of the club shall be in the hands of the General Committee. It will consist of a Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Over 40 team Captains and a Committee which will include the Chairman of Selectors , County League Representative, the Recreation Club Representative, the Fixture Secretary plus up to eight further committee members, a Junior Representative from each Junior age group and a female representative. All members of the General Committee shall have voting powers, except the Chairman, who shall have a casting vote only
  3. . All the above positions will be elected at the Annual General Meeting ( A.G.M ).
  4. The club will run the following teams : 1st, 2nd, 3rd XI , Over 40’s, Under 11, 13, 15, 17. In the event of increased demand, Under 10 and / or Under 12 teams can be formed.
  5. For all positions to be filled by election at the A.G.M , a nomination sheet will be posted on the Changing Room notice board at least 3 weeks prior to the last Saturday league game of the season. Each nomination must be entered on the nomination sheet not later than 7 days before the A.G.M. and must be signed by the proposer and seconder. Nominations for Senior posts may only be made by and for members of the club who are 18 years of age and older at the date of the A.G.M.
  6. No nominations will be accepted at the A.G.M. itself, except where no previous written nomination has been made. Where only one nomination is made, the nominee will automatically be elected. Where no nomination is put forward for a particular position, that position will be filled by appointment of the General Committee.
  7. Voting at the A.G.M. will be by personal voting by members present.
  8. The Treasurer shall be the custodian of the finance of the club and shall be able to provide fully documented records of all financial transactions when requested to do so by the General Committee, in addition to a regular statement of the club’s financial position and a year end statement of account. ( Note : The treasurer will be required to prepare financial accounts as deemed by The Recreation Club. )
  9. The Annual General Meeting shall be held within a period of 8 weeks following the last league match of the season. The Secretary will give at least 8 weeks notice of each A.G.M. in writing.
  10. An Extraordinary General Meeting shall be called only if the secretary has received, in writing, a request signed by not less than 6 members of the club.
  11. In addition to the General Committee, the club shall have a selection committee that is responsible for the selection of all Senior Club teams. This committee will comprise of a Chairman of Selectors ( elected at the A.G.M. ) together with the Captains and Vice Captains of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams.
  12. Membership of the club is by Annual subscription. W.P.C.C. in turn pays Winnington Park Recreation Club a subscription determined by the Recreation Club. Non payment of subscription by 31st May each year, may result in ineligibility for selection as a player until the required subscription is paid. A member, who has not paid the subscription, will be ineligible to vote at the A.G.M.
  13. The above constitution may not be changed, in whole or in part, except by a vote at the General Committee or A.G.M. at which not less than 12 of the current membership attend. A two-thirds majority of the votes cast will be required for any change in the constitution.
  14. The General Committee is empowered to invite selected persons to become Vice Presidents on payment of a Vice Presidents fee, which will be determined from time to time by the General Committee. Such Vice Presidents will have the right to attendance and vote at the A.G.M and at any Extraordinary General Meeting. They can also be co-opted onto the committee ( or any of its Sub- Committees) at the discretion of the General Committee.
